Alex Oproiu is a Romanian designer. 

Born in Bucharest, he currently shares his time between his home city and Milano. His initial education was in Finance, going so far as obtaining a PhD from the Academy of Economic Studies, but his passion was always design and architecture. 

He has been running his own studio since 2005, with a focus on public spaces, while also being involved as a project manager in the development of several projects ranging from scientific centres to luxury boutique hotels. This rich experience has finally led to the desire of pursuing formal education in the field of design.

Istituto Marangoni was a natural choice, as it provided the means to attain a very high skill set in the shortest time, with an accent on luxury and in-depth research methods. After a sabbatical of traveling throughout South East Asia and the Indian sub-continent, he enrolled at the Milano School of Design and graduated top of his class with a specialty in Interior Design.

He is still involved with the school, running the Information Centre in Romania.
