COSTINA COSTA-FORU

Costina Costa-Foru is a fashion designer and pattern-maker based in Milan, Italy.

Born in Bucharest, Romania, after completing the studies at the classic highschool and further at the Economics University in Bucharest, she decided to make a drastic life change and follow her passion for art, drawing and fashion. She moved to Milan where she enrolled to the Fashion Design course at Istituto Marangoni. After the Master's degree she started working as a designer in various design offices of Italian brands and meanwhile, decided to enlarge her expertise with advanced studies of pattern-making.

In 2015 she won the design competition launched by Asahi Kasei Fibers Corporation, the worldwide leader producer of fabrics and vegetal fibers. The contest consisted in designing a series of outfits and personally putting together the chosen one, with their trademark fabric, Cupro.

The same year, 2015, while maintaining external free-lance collaborations as a designer and pattern-maker, she joined the Istituto Marangoni team as a pattern-making professor. She currently teaches at the Milan, Florence and Mumbai campuses. Helping young designers to enhance their skills, she both teached and actively contributed to the development of the advanced course, in collaboration with the Italian brand Ermanno Scervino.
